“Space in Enigma” (base on two photos)

Being in a narrow and limited space is normally not a comfortable place for each and every individual, however it is the most important need for every individual. Square, silent, scary and lonely, those are the things that come to mind when looking at the picture. Yet, this limited space gives peacefulness when one is in need of it.  When the body fills up this narrow space, it is as if we forget that it is not comfortable, but comfortable when we need it. Who wants to sit in a narrow space? Who wants to be alone? The body that becomes the experiment for this space does not realize the possibilities that may happen. The door which is opened has offered a new space for the other body and eye to look at it from a different perspective. Attired in red shirt, blue pants while his chin resting on one hand, is as if waiting for something that can give him the comfort that he really wants.

The eye that looks at this space from a different perspective may say that it is disgusting, but when those who look at it and feel the space, they will know about the peacefulness towards the meaning of satisfaction of this narrow space. A person with a sensitive heart can perfectly understand as to why the need to open the door of that narrow space. Logically to have the air ventilated or he will suffocate with the excretion from his own body or perhaps even because the door is dysfunctional that could not be closed and left ajar as opposed to another person’s eye and body who probably has the desire to see that person with pants half down and make full use of the narrow space to satisfy his own desire.

Comfortable, peaceful and satisfied to be here. That is the desire of everyone to release the peacefulness in the area as well as this space. The green leaves, blown by the wind, lulled by the child’s voice inviting us who are in the space to be at peace for a while from the busy and fast paced city. This clearly shows that a person’s journey is not blocked by any disaster, and yet if we make an observation towards an individual who is standing in the area of the big trees, one new space is created through that unknown person. He is standing peacefully in his own space without disturbing other people or trying to conquer that big space, is there a possibility that danger is awaiting? And is that danger a challenge? The space naturally wide opened which is considered beautiful with peaceful atmosphere can possibly be changed into a tragedy and make it even narrower and closed than what is expected.  What will happen if the big tree blocks the space or area which is wide opened? Will it be peaceful? Perhaps, but what will happen if the big tree falls and crushes on the person leaning against the tree? The space is clearly buried.

These are assumptions of what could possibly happen to a space which is as beautiful and peaceful as that. In all meanings of life, that picture depicts nature in which nature equals purity, peaceful, harmony, quietness, beautiful and safe. Nature is God’s gift. And so is human brain. Naturally, a beautiful quiet park with beautiful trees as that picture expresses that nothing bad or disastrous will happen if nature is left as it is. Should the tree fall on the person that is not his doing. It is an Act of God which is unforeseeable. Yes, that may happen. Anything is possible except death. And what can happen too is as if the person is waiting for someone to come by and give him a ride to wherever his destination is. He may be resting under the tree thinking of the road ahead of where it will take him to. Or perhaps he already knows for he is just waiting for that someone. Human brain is complicated. Because he himself chooses to make it complicated. Pictures can be interpreted in various abstract ways. Another possible scene is probably the person just walks out of his house which is across the park and wanting to take a breather and get out of the suffocating space and be in a wide opened space surrounded by lovely trees as shown in the picture. And probably it is his own desire to be alone amongst the big trees. For that is the space where he finds comfort, peaceful and protected. Protecting him from the insanity of his life and world that he is embedded in.
